Email program settings - Outlook or Outlook Express

For better management on e-mail system you need to configure Outlook or Outlook Express described on this page.

Replace <yourdomain> with your current domain of email.

Outlook 2003 or Outlook XP

Server settings

Select Tools->E-mail Accounts, make sure that View or change existing accounts is checked. Select Next, then your Account name, then the Change button
If your incoming mail server is POP3 then set:-
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.<yourdomain>
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.<yourdomain>

Server Tab
Check the My server requires authentication box, then select the Settings... button and check the Use same settings as my incoming mail server box. Select OK to confirm the settings.

Outlook 2007

Server settings

Select Tools->E-mail Accounts. Select your Account name, then select Change.
If your incoming mail server is POP3 then set:-
Incoming mail server (POP3): mail.<yourdomain>
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.<yourdomain>

Click More setting --> Outgoing Server
Check the My server requires authentication box, then select the Settings... button and check the Use same settings as my incoming mail server box. Select OK to confirm the settings.

Outlook 2000 or Outlook Express 6

Server settings

Select Tools->Accounts->Mail, then your Account name, then select the Properties button then the Servers tab.
If your incoming mail server is POP3 then set:-
Incoming mail (POP3): mail.<yourdomain>
Outgoing mail (SMTP): smtp.<yourdomain>

Check the My server requires authentication box, then select the Settings... button and check the Use same settings as my incoming mail server box. Select OK to confirm the settings.

Mac OS X Mail

Configure Mac OS X Mail to Use SMTP Auth

Select Mail->Preferences->Mail, Highlight the account and click edit
Click the Account Information tab -> Server Settings -> Choose Authentication: Password and fill in your Username (Full email address) and Password.
Click OK.
Close the Accounts window.
Click Save to save the changes that you made.


Mac OS X Mail

Configure Mac OS X Mail to Use SMTP Auth

Select Mail->Preferences->Mail, Highlight the account and click edit

Close the Accounts window.
Click Save to save the changes that you made.

iPhone

Configure iPhone (software version 1.x)

  1. From the Dashboard, click Settings.
  2. Under Settings, select Mail.
  3. Select Add Account...
  4. Select Other as the type of account.
  5. Select POP.
  6. Enter the requested information:
    • Name: the name of the mail user
    • Address: the email address of the mail user
    • Description: a description of the mail user
    • Host Name: enter the mail server mail.yourdomain.com (incoming mail server and external mail server)
    • User Name: enter the full email address (incoming mail server and external mail server)
    • Password: enter the users password (incoming mail server and external mail server)
  7. Click Save.
  8. If you see a message that says "Cannot Connect Using SSL", click Yes when asked to setup the account without SSL.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Click Settings for the account you just created.
  11. Click Advanced.
  12. Set Incoming Uses SSL and Outgoing Use SSL to OFF.
  13. Under Incoming settings, click Authentication and select Password.
  14. Under Outgoing settings, click Authentication and select Password.

Configure iPhone (software version 2.x)

  1. From the Dashboard, click Settings.
  2. Under Settings, select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Select Add Account...
  4. Select Other as the type of account.
  5. Enter the requested information:
    • Name: the name of the mail user
    • Address: the email address of the mail user
    • Password: enter the users password (incoming mail server and external mail server)
    • Description: a description of the mail user
  6. Click Next.
  7. Click POP and enter the Incoming Mail Server information:
    • Host Name: enter the mail server address (mail.yourdomain.com)
    • User Name: enter the full email address
    • Password: enter the users password
  8. Scroll down and enter the Outgoing Mail Server information:
    • Host Name: enter the mail server address (mail.yourdomain.com)
    • User Name: enter the full email address
    • Password: enter the users password
  9. Click Save.
  10. If you see a message that says "Cannot Connect Using SSL", click Yes when asked to setup the account without SSL.
  11. The Advanced settings for the account will be displayed and do not need to be changed.

  12. Android based device

    Configure email on Android based device

    1. If this is the first account you're setting up on the Google Android device, tap Mail. Otherwise, from the Home screen choose "Mail > Menu > More > New Account"
    2. By tapping the option at the bottom of the list, set the account type as "Other (POP3/IMAP)" and select "Manual Setup"
    3. Then input the following information:
      • Protocol - set to POP
      • Email address - the e-mail address that you are going to be using (e.g. info@yourdomain.com)
      • Username - This will be the user name you were given when the account was created (usually the full email address for the account, complete with @ symbol)
      • Password The password will also have been supplied to you, please note the password is case sensitive
      • POP Server - In the same way that your website with us is found at mail.yourdomain.com the Host Name needs to be set to mail.yourdomain.om
      • Security Type- From the list of options, select none
      • Server Port Change port number to 110
    4. Then click next:
      • Check the "Login Required" tick box and then re-enter your user name and password (if not auto filled)
      • SMTP Server -Type in mail.yourdomainname.com (e.g. mail.yourdomain.com)
      • Security Type- Select none from list of options
      • Server Port Change port number to 587
      • Click next and then save your details.
      • Your mail account is now ready for use.
